Pottstown Community Health Events for September 2019

There’s nothing like the fall air. Here are the health and wellness events happening around the Pottstown area this month so you can get your outdoor time in before winter arrives.

Lundale Farm to Feet 5K, Dog Walk + Celebration
Friday, September 13
5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
Lundale Farm Inc.
Friday the 13th is your lucky day this month, with a 5K, Dog Walk, and Celebration at Lundale Farm! If you want to run or walk, there is a trail winding through the farm and fields, with prizes for the top three runners and top dogs. There will also be a silent auction benefit the farm’s infrastructure projects. Plus, with music and food grown on the farm, how could you pass this up?

If you’d like to be involved in helping create a walking action plan to benefit the Pottstown community, join this stroll through the neighborhood for a discussion.

Monarch Butterfly Tagging Event
Saturday, September 21
11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Pottstown FARM
Ron Richael, a local butterfly expert, hosts this unique event where you can hold a Monarch Butterfly and see live Monarch chrysalides. Monarchs will also be tagged to track their 2,000-mile journeys to Mexico for the winter.

Ride for the River
Saturday, September 28
8:30 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Sly Fox Beer
Ready for a real ride? Travel from Pottstown to Reading along the Schuylkill River Trail (16-mile and 35-mile options). Registration gets you fully stocked rest stops, ride support and a complimentary pre-ride bike safety checks. You can also stop by an independent music festival at the end of your journey for free food (covered by registration)! All proceeds for this event benefit the Schuylkill River Trail.
