Pottstown Area Regional Recreation Committee

For over a decade, the municipalities of The Pottstown Area Regional Recreation Committee have worked with the Regional Recreation Planner to partner with public and private funders to redevelop and expand the parks, trails and open spaces of the PARRC region. As of 2024, PARRC’s region includes. in Montgomery County, the Borough of Pottstown, Douglass Township, Lower, Upper and West Pottsgrove, in Chester County, North and East Coventry, and in Berks County, Washington Township.

PARRC serves a population of over 75,000 residents. Projects have included new playground equipment, trail development and redevelopment, basketball courts, pickleball courts, pavilions, tree plantings, and even a new floating dock. All of these facilities contribute to an improved quality of life for Pottstown area residents and new ways for people to connect with the outdoors and improve their own physical and mental health.

PARRC is an organization comprised of representatives from eight municipalities in the Pottstown Metropolitan Region, the Pottstown Area Health & Wellness Foundation, the Schuylkill River Greenway National Heritage Area and a full-time Regional Recreation Planner committed to improving parks, trails, open spaces and recreational opportunities of the PARRC region. Through cooperative efforts and the leadership and technical assistance provided by the Regional Recreation Planner, PARRC seeks to promote the development and maintenance of recreational facilities, encourage the preservation of open space and implement better planning for parks and recreation for all.
