La Salle Capacity-Building Clinics
In cooperation with the La Salle University Nonprofit Center, the Pottstown Area Health & Wellness Foundation is inviting nonprofits to submit an application to participate in a series of virtual Zoom capacity-building clinics. Recognizing the continual need for local nonprofits to access capacity building resources which allow them to better serve our community, the Foundation will offer professional development scholarships for a select number of grantees.
To be eligible for consideration, a complete application is required by August 4. Selected participants will need to attend all workshop sessions to participate in either clinic. Clinic 1: Building a Diversified Development Plan
A goal without a plan is just a dream. Is your organization making a solid, consistent plan and working through execution? Does your small or 1-man shop find development overwhelming? This multichannel training series addresses the needs of every fundraising shop, from 1 staff member to more than 50. This clinic includes a series of 4 workshops and a bonus session.
Learning Objectives:
- Learn beginner best practices for board development and training.
- Understand effective plans for creating an executable fundraising plan that will get results, tips for fundraising in difficult climates, and how to take a development plan from scattered hopes to simple, integrated methods that have been proven to increase fundraising and relationship engagement year-over-year.
- Finish this clinic with a development plan to help their organization move forward in a thoughtful way.
- Gain increased confidence and knowledge to support their essential roles as fundraisers for organization initiatives and programs.
Audience: This clinic is designed for those who want to advance knowledge gained in the Fundraising Series Certificate Program or equivalent. We encourage organizations to send a team of one to three participants to attend all workshops, including executive directors, staff, board members or other individuals strategically involved in development activities/plan of organization.

Clinic 2: Creating a Comprehensive and Strategic Approach to Digital Media
Nearly 90% of nonprofits use some form of digital media in their marketing. The number of social platforms is ever expanding, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube, and so many more. Without a comprehensive strategy, however, your message cannot reach its maximum impact as a marketing, and ultimately a fundraising tool. This class was created to address the interest in developing smart, efficient, coordinated strategies that unify your marketing efforts. You’ll be able to use this class to tie together everything you are doing in digital marketing so that it is a fully integrated component of your marketing plan, taking full advantage of its vast potential. This clinic includes a series of 3 workshops.
Learning Objectives:
- Increase knowledge of how to develop an integrated strategy across social media platforms.
- Gain market research and analytical skills to measure engagement within demographics.
- Develop understanding in metrics, tracking, analysis and goal-setting to evaluate and adapt to the ever-changing best practices in social media.
- Participants will explore a variety of digital media communication concepts such as email marketing, management tools, search engine optimization, optimizing visuals, tracking links, advertising, trends and legal implications.
Audience: This clinic will benefit any Executive Directors, Board members and staff responsible, or who will be responsible, for digital media will gain increased confidence and knowledge to support their essential roles in this area. It will also be useful to other individuals strategically involved in social media activities or plan of organization.
