Helping Our Neighbors Impacted by the North Coventry Fire
POTTSTOWN, August 6, 2020—UPDATE: The Tri-County Community Network is working to coordinate current and past Ashwood fundraising efforts so that the monetary donations for the victims will be housed in one location. The collected monetary donations will provide direct support for both short term and long term needs for the displaced Ashwood residents. TCN ensures that all donated funds will provide a lifeline to those impacted by the fire and the financial reporting will be available for public review.

The fund will support a coordinated response by the local nonprofit community in conjunction with Chester County government agencies.
POTTSTOWN, July 31, 2020—Yesterday evening, a fire destroyed Ashwood Apartments in North Coventry and displaced over 100 members of our community. As efforts to provide long-term support to these families take shape, the Philadelphia Red Cross, Pottstown Salvation Army, and SPCA are among the local organizations providing for the immediate needs of residents and their pets.
Due to an outpouring of support by the community, donations of clothing, toiletries, and food have been paused at the North Coventry Fire Company; however, they are accepting gift cards and monetary donations.
Contributions may be made through a relief fund specifically established for those impacted by the fire. All funds, not including online service fees, will go towards relief for the victims of the fire.
Those wishing to provide monetary support to Red Cross disaster relief efforts may do so at the Red Cross donation webpage, and those wishing to support the Pottstown Salvation Army may do so at the Salvation Army donation webpage. Both organizations provide donors the option of giving towards their community chapter.
North Coventry Township issued a press release Friday afternoon with information on the situation and details on ways to volunteer and provide monetary support through the North Coventry Fire Company.
We will update this page with further details about opportunities for providing food, clothing, and shelter—as well as long-term support—for all those impacted by the fire as information becomes available.
