Pottstown Area Health & Wellness Foundation Announces Changes
Pottstown, PA – June 27, 2013 – The Pottstown Area Health & Wellness Foundation announces changes in staff and board leadership. Anna Brendle Kennedy, Program Officer for Schools, Recreation and Active Living, has resigned effective July 19, 2013. Ms. Brendle Kennedy has accepted a position as the executive director of the Lancaster Osteopathic Health Foundation. “Anna has been a key employee with an understanding of philanthropy, a sharp intellect and organizational skills that moved projects forward,” according to Dave Kraybill, Executive Director of the Foundation. “We wish her all the best in her new role.”
In addition, the Foundation has appointed Linda Flederbach to the board of directors effective July 1, 2013. Ms. Flederbach is the Owner/President of Joe Paws Dog Bakery, and a member of Main Street Property Investment Companies. She is the former Main Street Manager of both Collegeville and Boyertown. Flederbach received her master’s degree in Social Work from Syracuse University, and her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Kutztown University.
“Linda brings a unique talent to the Foundation board, and will be a key link to the Boyertown community,” remarks Dave Kraybill, Executive Director of the Foundation. “We are looking forward to her opinion and expertise as we work toward moving the dial to improve health and wellness in our community.”
Kraybill also announced the retirement of three board members. Robert Moses, one of the “founding fathers” of the Foundation, has served on the board since its inception in July 2003. Linda Lignelli and Phyllis Harwood, both retired school nurses, have served on the Board since June 2004. Kraybill comments, “These three individuals have volunteered endless hours throughout their tenure and have been instrumental in providing leadership through their strategic and progressive thinking in both the Pottstown and Boyertown communities.”
As of July 1, 2013, Kenneth Picardi will continue his role as board president and Art Green will assume the role as vice president. Matt Cappelletti will assume the role of treasurer, Myra Forrest will assume the role of secretary, and Dr. Keith Harrison has accepted the position of “member-at-large” of the executive committee.
