Holy Cross Regional School Debuts New Rock Climbing Wall
Students enjoy climbing and challenging themselves on the new rock climbing wall at Holy Cross Regional School.
Pottstown Pa – September 16, 2015- The Holy Cross School community proudly introduces a new addition to its campus. A rock climbing wall was recently installed in the school gymnasium and was unveiled to the students and parents during the first week of the 2015-16 school year. Pottstown Area Health & Wellness Foundation provided a grant to Holy Cross which helped to fund this large project. For two days in August, the rock wall, housed at Sacred Heart Parish in Royersford, was dismantled, transported, and installed in the Holy Cross gymnasium, in Collegeville.
Rock climbing engages kids of all ages, sizes, and skills, during all seasons of weather. It offers students an alternative to regular workouts and, at the same time, challenges their problem-solving abilities.
Physical education teacher Mrs. Stacy Mauer is “very excited to add the climbing wall to the physical education curriculum at Holy Cross Regional Catholic School. Climbing is a lifetime sport that builds physical, cognitive and social/emotional skills. I thank the Pottstown Health & Wellness Foundation for making this exciting adventure possible.”
