Schuylkill River Trail
With over 75 miles of trail open to the public, the Schuylkill River Trail is a great place for walking, running, and cycling.
Built over abandoned railroad lines, the SRT is a cornerstone of recreation and human-powered transportation in the communities it connects. The trail is continually being improved and extended, and will eventually extend 120 miles from Schuylkill County to Philadelphia.
Along its path, trail users can see evidence of several centuries of industrial development, canal navigation, railroad transportation, quarrying of limestone and iron ore, and the production of iron and steel.
Explore the trail with Schuylkill River Greenways' interactive map.
Trail end points: S. 56th St. near Eastwick Ave. (Philadelphia) and Main St. and S. Greenview Road (Landingville). Trail surfaces: Asphalt, Boardwalk, Concrete, Crushed Stone, Dirt, Gravel Activities: Biking, Mountain Biking, Walking, Dog Walking, Wheelchair Accessible, Inline Skating, Cross Country Skiing.
