Royersford Riverfront Trail is a lush, shaded linear park situated between 1st Ave. and the Schuylkill River. Highlights on the paved trail include rain gardens, benches, an ornate plaza near the northwest terminus and an observation pier extending into the river at the southeast end. The trail has helped revive what had been a blighted part of the town and funds are currently being raised to extend it further southeast to the borough line. Longer range plans envision the trail becoming part of a longer greenway that will follow the northeast bank of the river and compliment the Schuylkill River Trail on the southwest side. Sidewalks on the bridge that carries Bridge Street across the Schuylkill River provide a direct connection to the Schuylkill River Trail and Spring City.
