Today marks the beginning of the final week for our 2015 On Your Park, Get Set, Go! Contest with voting closing Friday, July 31st at dusk. For the past four weeks, the communities of 14 local municipalities have been rallying behind their favorite, participating park to help it win thousands of dollars in grant improvements.
From taking selfies and scanning QR codes on-site in the parks, to online voting via the Mission Healthy Living Facebook page, to spreading the word and rallying support from family and friends, the outpour of enthusiasm and support for our local parks has been tremendous. Communities are coming together to enjoy the numerous benefits and amenities provided by their parks. That’s why now, in the last week of the contest, your support is more important than ever.
Remember, a single park goer could earn their park 22 votes per DAY just be voting all three ways. You can also directly contribute to your park’s cause by making a monetary donation. Every single dollar up to $2,000 will be matched by the Pottstown Area Health & Wellness Foundation. So, if you chose to donate $5, your park will receive $10! It’s that simple and doesn’t have to break the bank in order to have an impact on your park.
Currently, the top four parks in the competition are Hollenback Park (Upper Pottsgrove Township), Pineland Park (Exeter Township), Connie Batdorf Park (South Conventry Township) and Douglass Park (Douglass Township) but there’s still time!
Here’s how you can vote and support your park for one more week:
- Download a QR Code reader on your phone and scan your park’s QR code (will be posted at the park) to earn 10 votes.
- Take a selfie at your park and post it to the Mission Healthy Living (MHL) Facebook page OR email it to OnYourPark@gmail.com (please choose one or the other, but not both) for 10 additional votes.
- Vote online here to earn your park two MORE votes and keep track of your park’s status in the running with real-time voting results.
Help your park get as many votes as possible this week and possibly win funds for improvements!
On Your Park, Get Set, Go! Best of luck to all participating parks.
