With the taste of beautiful, spring-like weather we had last weekend, it's safe to say March 20th, the official day of spring, will be welcomed with open arms.
Along with the warmer weather, here are some Pottstown events to look forward to in the upcoming months!
Let's Get Growing!: It's easier to "think spring" when you have a green thumb -or want to gain one! The 2016 Home Gardens Contest is just around the corner and is now open to both the Boroughs of Pottstown and Boyertown this year. The contest will also feature new categories to appease experienced and beginner gardeners alike and offer big prizes (including cash!). Stay tuned to Mission Healthy Living for details on how to register in March.
Family Fun Day: Pottstown Early Action for Kindergarten Readiness (PEAK) Celebrates Young Children and the Pottstown YMCA Healthy Kids Day are teaming up to provide of day of fun for the whole family on Saturday, April 16 from 1-3 p.m. at Pottstown High School. It will feature farm animals, a moon bounce, fitness activities, healthy eating options and so much more!
Pottstown FARM: Spring is prime time for fresh fruits and veggies and what better place to get them than the new Pottstown Farm & Artsian Regional Market opening Thursday, May 5 from 4-8 p.m. From there, you'll be able to visit the farmer's market for fresh produce every Thursday through October. Parks Galore: Get back into your local park and other parks across the region in our 2016 On Your Park, Get Set, Go!® contest during the entire month of July. Mark your calendars and stay tuned for details on how you can help your favorite park win grant funds for improvements simply by enjoying all it has to offer!
