Small steps lead to big changes. Even though it may seem scary at first or push you out of your comfort zone, there are little things you can do each and every day to get you started on the path towards healthier living.
Hydrate often: Skip the soda and energy drinks loaded with sugar and grab water when you need to quench your thirst! Drinking water before, during and after meals could help you feel fuller and prevent overindulging.
Take the stairs: Deviate from your normal morning routine of taking the elevator at the office and head for the stairs. If you're out of breath once you reach the top, you won't be after making it a regular habit.
Move it, move it: Sitting is said to be the new smoking and too much of one, sedentary motion is not good for your body. Make it a point to get up from your chair several times throughout the day and move around. Get away from the glow of the computer screen and get outside during a lunch break.
Everyone is different, so what works for one person may not work for another, but what truly matters is the effort put forth. Little by little, we can alter our habits and take a healthier approach to living. With each new day comes a new opportunity to be better ourselves. Find what works for you and keep doing it.
Mission Healthy Living is a resource to help you do just that! Showcase those daily efforts of healthier living via our Healthy Selfie contest. Your small steps could lead to big changes to your health, and could result in winning a $50 gift card to a local sporting good or health food store!
A new, healthier you awaits!
