Happy National Bike Month! May is a time to celebrate the many reasons to ride a bike. Today, the third Friday of the month, is National Bike to Work Day!
If you're looking to incorporate more bike riding into your daily activity, check out some great local ways to do so!
Bike Pottstown: Grab a yellow bike and go for a ride on the Schuylkill River Trail or around town. Take in the scenery on a beautiful sunny day and explore!
Pottstown Bike Race: Registration is now open for this July 22 event which includes amateur and professional cyclists of all ages. Although you must have a racing license from the USA Cycling Federation to participate, there is NO fee to watch or attend the race. Bring your family and friends and come out for a great day. If you are on the course, have a picnic or a block party to enjoy the event and cheer on the racers. A festive atmosphere with a beer garden, Gatsby's Grill & numerous vendors who will be on High Street between Hanover & Charlotte. There will also be Bike Race Bingo this year! Walk, Bike, Pottstown: A collaborative effort between the Borough and Pottstown School District, with funding provided by the PennDOT Transportation Alternatives Program and the Foundation,Walk and Bike Pottstown will extend the current bike lanes located on High Street throughout the Borough to increase connectivity and provide more opportunities for active transportation.
