Tomorrow, Wednesday, April 20th, is the first Mercury Mile walk of 2016! Brought to you by Fit for Life, a health and fitness initiative of The Mercury, the Mercury Mile is a weekly lunchtime walk to get the Pottstown community up and moving during the work day.
You can find participants on Wednesdays at noon walking a mile, getting in some light exercise and fresh air while networking and meeting new faces! The location of the walk changes each week and area businesses have the opportunity to host a walk, creating opportunities for residents to learn more about their organization and connect with fellow community members.
This year, there are exciting new additions to the initiative including evening walks for those who can't make it out on their lunch breaks and additional walking routes, traveling outside the Borough of Pottstown.
So, tomorrow, lace up your sneakers and come out for the first of many Mercury Miles of the 2016 season! All interested participants are asked to report to Smith Family Plaza in Pottstown, located at 100 E. High Street next to the fountain near Borough Hall, at noon on Wednesday. Please arrive a few minutes early if possible and bring your family and friends! The walk usually takes about 20 minutes.
It's going to be a beautiful day for a Walking Wednesday!
