During Men’s Health Month, it’s important to remind the men in our lives to make regular visits to the doctor for checkups.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report that females go to the doctor more than men, with 4% of men—compared to 2% of women—claiming they have not contacted a doctor or healthcare professional for more than five years.
This continues some worrying trends in men’s health:
There are plenty of factors that could contribute to these stats. But even men who feel perfectly healthy might be able to learn about health problems before they become serious, especially items like:
- Blood pressure
- Prostate cancer
This month, we can all reach out to male family members and friends to get proactive with their health.
