Rain, rain, go away…come again another day!
On this dreary Monday, the gloomy sky and clouds may have you longing to stay in the comfy confines of your bed instead of trekking to work. Not feeling like singing in the rain today? That’s understandable because, believe it or not, the weather does sometimes affect your moods.
If your day needs a little brightening, here are some fun ideas to consider:
Pump it up:
Listen to your favorite internet radio, personal playlist or whatever at your desk (keep the volume at a respectable level as to not disturb co-workers) or pop in your headphones. It’s sort of like the old saying “Whistle while you work!” It will boost your mood and keep you moving and stress-free throughout the day. It’s amazing how the right music can soothe you, make you more productive, and even make the day go by just a bit faster.
As much and as often as possible. Sometimes all you need to make the day better is a good laugh! After all, they say laughter is the best medicine.
Make the best of it:
It may feel like a case of the Mondays, but who says Monday HAS to be terrible? Sure, the weekend is over and it’s time to go back to work but that doesn’t mean the day has to be bad. Grab some coffee (or whatever gets you going in the morning), put on a smile and tell yourself you’re going to have a good day no matter the day of the week the calendar reads. Sure, life gets hectic, but don’t let a bad day (or a preconceived notion that Mondays have to be bad) ruin your week before it even starts.
After all, you’ve got sunshine on a cloudy day.
