A family is a circle of strength and love, helping to support, encourage and motivate you through the ups and downs of life. Changing your habits and overall lifestyle may seem like a challenge, but not when you take it one step at a time with a great support system behind you made up of family, friends and/or loved ones.
Here's a few tips to help you get started on the path towards healthier living:
Hold each other accountable: Reaching your goals will be much easier if you have someone (or multiple people) by your side pushing you on even on the days when you're not feeling yourself. You can lean on each other and navigate this journey together.
Encourage, not shame: Shaming someone you love into healthier living is never the answer. Instead, motivate each other positively with uplifting messages of support and encouragement. Respect their effort and help them to reach their goals without tearing them down.
Teamwork: Make healthy meals together (make sure the kids help too!), complete your favorite exercises, go for a walk and/or run, take healthy selfies, etc. Regardless of what you do, you'll be together spending quality time with each other while improving your own health and wellness. What could be better?
