A week from today is Thanksgiving followed by one of the biggest shopping days of the year-- Black Friday!
If you're braving the crowds in search of the best deals to jump start your holiday shopping, here's a few things to keep in mind to help you stay alert and healthy while doing so!
Get plenty of sleep: Chances are you'll have a full, exhausting day, plus the fact that it's the day immediately following a major holiday, is stress enough in and of itself. If you're one of the early birds that's up and at'em to wait in line at 4 a.m. for that major deal, get to bed early and let your body rest from the excitment of Thanksgiving. You want to be fresh and alert to help you stay as healthy as possible.
Grab water: Don't get so busy shopping that you forget to hydrate! Bring your own water bottle and be sure to keep filling it throughout the day as you keep moving. Calculate how much YOU should be drinking each day here!
Pack your own healthy snacks: Fight the urge to hit up the food court or kiosks in between stores. Bring snacks like almonds, fresh fruits and veggies, etc. to munch on in between stores so you're not tempted to grab whatever's closest during your mad dash shopping spree.
Park in the back: This shouldn't be much of a problem with the crowds, but save yourself from driving around in circles in search of a front row space, and park in the back of the shopping center or parking lot. This will give you a chance to stretch your legs, get some fresh air and save you from the parking wars!
To all venturing out this Black Friday, wishing you a safe and healthy, fun-filled day!
