Stress is something that affects everyone, yet we all have our own unique ways of relieving that stress. Every person is different, but here are a few ways you can de-stress and take time for you!
Sweet dreams: Sleep plays a major role when it comes to stress. You need to rest and recharge your body. To do that, try getting yourself on a sleep schedule and sticking with it. Go to bed and wake up at the same time every day. Be consistent and see how you feel with your new routine. This will help ensure you're getting an adequate amount of sleep. You can also reference the National Sleep Foundation to see how many hours you need depending on your age.
Be kind to your body: Sometimes, stress can cause us to overeat in an attempt to compensate for a bad day or when you're just feeling down. While it's great to enjoy your favorite foods in moderation, don't use them as a security blanket. Know the difference between emotional eating versus mindful eating and take care of your body.
Do something you love: Whether it's reading a new book, doing some yoga or snuggling up with your loved ones for a movie--do something to help you unwind from the day and relax your body and mind.
Quiet time: Take some time to just be still and enjoy your surroundings. Take it all in and do some breathing exercises. Quiet your mind and block out the world for a bit. Meditate, be present and let it all go!
