Fall may seem like the end of summer fun (goodbye trips to the beach and pool!), but there’s still a lot to be excited about beyond the beautiful foliage. It’s that time of year to get back into the kitchen and spend some quality time cooking up delicious meals and reconnecting with the ones we love!
So while fall might not be the best time for watermelon or peaches, it is the perfect time to enjoy the fruits and vegetables that are in season, like pumpkin, a perennial fall favorite!
According to the USDA, these fruits and veggies are in season, and you can enjoy them into the winter:
- Brussels sprouts
- Collard greens
- Green beans
- Sweet potatoes
- Swiss chard
- Winter squash
Check out the produce aisle at the grocery store—or your local farmers market—and see how many of these you can find. Is there something here you’ve always wanted to try? Now’s the season!
