The Foundation periodically presents needs assessments of Pottstown and the Tri-County Area to share our community’s health outcomes and compare them to previous assessments and the nation. These health surveys offer the most current, up-to-date information and trends on our access to health care, healthy behaviors and child health.
In 2018, Public Health Management Corporation conducted our fourth needs assessment, and the results are now available to the public.

- The Tri-County Area is close to meeting a number of Healthy People (HP) 2020 goals – national objectives for improving the health of all Americans.
- The Tri-County Area met the goal to reduce preterm and low birth weight births.
- The Tri-County Area is doing the same or better than the rest of southeast PA on access to care; however, outcomes have not improved since 2013.
- The Tri-County Area has not met HP2020 goals or national recommendations for health behaviors, such as physical activity, nutrition, smoking and binge drinking.
