The strain of everyday stress can lead to headaches, heart disease and high blood pressure. But did you know stress can alter your gut bacteria, and ultimately harm your immune system?
An estimated 10-100 trillion symbiotic microbial cells reside in every person's body. This collection of beneficial bacteria, fungi and other microbes is called the microbiome. Although it makes up a fraction of the human body, the microbiome helps with digestion and the immune system and produces vitamins.
