As of Friday, I have officially completed my first two full-time weeks as the communications assistant for the Pottstown Area Health & Wellness Foundation, and I couldn’t be happier with my decision to stay on board. It’s been a whirlwind of new information, faces and surroundings (my office is the coolest spot in the house…literally! My new space is near the water cooler J), but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’m learning more and more each day and taking everything in stride as I enjoy adult working life. One thing I learned? I need to go to bed earlier! This is not college anymore, Dorothy!
So, what’s the newest development in my journey towards healthier living, you ask? I finally got a Fitbit! For those of you who may be scratching your heads at this very moment, a Fitbit is a fitness/activity tracking device. I love it! I can track everything from my daily steps and movements to my sleep patterns and water/calorie intake. My new favorite thing to do every day is check my Fitbit to see how far I’ve walked. I enjoy logging everything so I can keep track and improve with each passing day.
Now, there are all types of fitness devices available to serve your physical activity/health tracking needs. It’s all about picking the one that’s right for you. No matter what brand you choose, I highly recommend getting some sort of device to help you further accomplish your health and wellness goals while encouraging, motivating and getting you excited about healthier living.
I know I’ll be using mine regularly from now on especially as I enter my week 3! Next week, Dr. Betts will be back and action and posting regularly but you can’t get rid of me that easily! I’ll still be contributing here and there in the future. Stay tuned and thank you all for following my journey J
Happy Monday, all!
