Last week, I shared a blog post I had come across via the ACEs Connection Network written by Shenandoah Chefalo, discussing trauma in an every day life experience- a trip to the grocery store.
This week, I came across a short (five minutes) video explaining the CDC-Kaiser Permanente ACE Study, produced by KPJR Films, which reveals the link between childhood trauma and the onset of chronic disease, mental illness, violence and being a victim of violence in adulthood. It's a great synopsis of the study and gives terrific insight as to the long-term effects of childhood trauma.
