How many times have I written about how the mountains and nature are my cure-all for inner peace and that when I need to, I can take myself there mentally to soothe myself? Or imagine myself on a trail in the New Hampshire woods, crunching along a rooted trail, soaked in the green and pine needle mossy forest floor, perhaps with a quiet stream flowing down nearby.
Well, I am a tingle with excitement because I’m going this weekend! Away! One of the things I love most is exploring new places so I am getting the trifecta: mountains, foliage, and a place I’ve never been in Northern PA. The weekend will include what is supposed to be a lovely college town and then a day trip to the famous Grand Canyon of PA, a place I’ve heard about and always wanted to go with my kids to see and hike in, but look at how time flies: my daughter is 19 and my twins are seniors and we never made it.
Well, I will and I need to get my kids up there too. Bonus points for hotel with an open roof with a fire pit. Good food, good company, and peace at last. What could be better?
