Today, I hit the halfway point of a 10-day green smoothie cleanse I'm trying. The past five days haven't been easy, but they certainly haven't been the torture I was expecting. Sure, I still crave all my favorite foods at times (and have had to resist them all week), but those impulses are diminishing by the day.
My body is adapting and my willpower is getting stronger. The best part? I feel GREAT! I've made it a point to get more sleep and, thus, have more energy to do the things I love. Sweating out all the stressors of the day in spin class has suddenly become much easier thanks to the increase in sleep as well as fresh fruits and veggies in my daily diet.
When temptation does arise, which has been unusually plentiful this week, I've been trying my hardest to fight it off and have succeeded every time. I just keep reminding myself of my goals and the purpose of this cleanse- to detox my body of all the bad stuff. That's what we need right? More GOOD stuff and less of the BAD stuff!
Believe me, I know it's hard, but when you're determined and want to accomplish something, nothing can stop you. When someone doubts your ability, use it to propel you forward to work that much harder. Your capabilities are beyond the doubts of others. Small steps lead to big changes!
If you're like me, encouragement plays a major role in your success. I'm not just talking about the support you get from family and friends, but the self-encouragement! Motivate yourself and always keep sight of your goals. You can do this! If you get stuck in a rut, check out these tips to help keep yourself in check.
