The week leading up to Easter Sunday is always a hectic, but fun time in my family. Aside from the Holy Week Masses, one of the highlights is attending the local Lion's Club's annual Easter Egg Hunt in honor of my late grandfather who was a member. This was one of his favorite events to work and bring his grandchildren to participate in; therefore, it is one of the many holiday traditions my family carries on as long as we can.
It not only keeps us all active (running after a seven-year-old who's running after all the eggs? Not as easy as it looks!), but brings us closer together for some priceless quality bonding time.
My siblings, cousins and I have all kept this tradition going in my Pop Pop's memory especially for the younger ones who did not have the honor of meeting him. Family traditions, and active ones at that, are so important not only for the health of the family, but of each individual member.
This week, take some time to devise a fun, active Easter-themed activity for your family to partake in! Whether it's a special Easter egg hunt of your own, egg relay races, etc., have fun and get everyone moving. You'll have unforgettable memories and get some fresh air and exercise in the process.
Happy Easter, everyone!
