Feeling stressed? Overwhelmed with all you have on your plate? We all know those feelings of anxiety that keep us up at night or panic-stricken throughout the day. When you get that pit in your stomach and all you want to do is cry, try these four things that always help me to de-stress.
Breathe: Just as the title of this post instructs, take a few deep breaths in and out. Step away from whatever you're doing at the moment and take a break. Take your eyes off your computer screen, get up from your desk and move around. Sometimes all it takes is a change of scenery even if it's just for a few minutes.
Listen to music: Nothing soothes me more when I'm stressed than the sounds of my favorite songs sung by my favorite artists. Pop in your headphones and jam out!
Soak up the Sun: Get out and enjoy this beautiful weather! Some fun in the sun will help get your mind off of all the stressors that are weighing you down. I highly recommend the Mercury Mile on Wednesdays at lunchtime!
Quality time: In my opinion, there's nothing in this world better than spending time with family and friends. The time spent is priceless and the ones closest to you know how to cheer you up and reinforce you positively.
Here's to a stress-free work doing whatever works best for you!
