Sometimes we don't realize the power we have to inspire and encourage others, acting as positive reinforcement to those who need that extra push.
Recently, a family friend has embarked on an inspiring journey to lead a healthier lifestyle to improve not only her health but also her quality of life. She posted a great quote via social media, where she has been chronicling her health and wellness journey, that read, "Be a work-in-progress and keep progressing," -author unknown.
It's powerful, inspiring and straightforward-- put forth the effort and keep at it. I know it made me stop in my tracks and think twice. You don't have to become an expert overnight, but in order to progress you need to help yourself succeed. Do what you can and watch the progression take place. YOU are the only obstacle standing in your way of a better quality of life. Kudos to my family friend and all who are trying to better themselves. It's not an easy task, but it's a worthy cause.
If you are seeking to lead a healthier lifestyle, take the first steps and change those unhealthy behaviors and habits in your lifestyle that tend to lead you astray. Grab a workout buddy and motivate each other to exercise more throughout the week, drink more water, incorporate more fresh foods and less processed junk, etc. It doesn't have to happen all at once, but taking the necessary steps to help you lead a fuller, healthier life starts with you. You have to be willing to try.
