With at least a third of our hours spent at the workplace, it is vital that those workplaces promote cultures of good health.
TriCounty Area Worksite Wellness Initiative is a collaboration of organizations dedicated to leading the Pottstown area in promoting healthy worksites. The groups leading this effort are the TriCounty Area Chamber of Commerce, Pottstown Family Center (Family Services of Montgomery County), The Victory Bank, Pottstown Hospital-Tower Health, Montgomery County Health Department, Sealstrip Corporation and the Foundation. The initiative focuses on employers with fewer than 50 employees who are members of the TriCounty Area Chamber of Commerce.
This team designates a member to work with area organizations to train, guide and provide work-specific wellness resources for a period of six months. During those six months, the organizations can become self-sufficient and have their efforts become sustainable. The Foundation offers a mini-grant program for participating partner organizations to help offset the costs for their programs and activities.
Organizations with worksite wellness programs are proven to have healthier employees, less absenteeism, better productivity, significant return on investment, and potential lower health insurance costs. The goal is to change the worksite culture and embed health in a manner that is customized to best suit organizational needs so that long-term success is achieved.
