There's no time like the present to kick a bad habit! Yesterday, smokers across the country participated in the American Cancer Society Great American Smokeout which is held the third Thursday of November every year. Don't worry if you missed it as any day is a great day to quit smoking! Whether it's making a plan to quit today or in the near future, if you're a smoker, encourage yourself, and your loved ones to commit to a healthier, tobacco-free life. The benefits, which make a difference in just 20 minutes without a cigarette per the chart below, is motivation enough to get started. Consider making a lifestyle change that will improve your quality of life and reduce your risk of cancer, not only for your health, but for the health of others around you. Small steps lead to big changes, so take that first leap into a new, healthier way of life.
